Noted Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has discussed Inter manager Antonio Conte’s belief that Inter are a team who are offered little protection from various people in comparison to other clubs.
“Conte always talks about an Inter with little protection from the referees, the press and decision-making bodies,” he began an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.
Sconcerti then went on to insist that, “It is clear that he is thinking of a club capable of influencing the press and the sympathy of the federations, but these are powers that are very difficult to find for sale.
“They are leadership that can be won with dozens and dozens of years of habits, wealth, successes, behaviours, seriousness and right timing for arrogance. The first lesson on this path is to do, the second is to complain as little as possible.”
Sconcerti proceeded to share some questions he has regarding the issue and admitted he feels that former Italian national team boss Conte is looking for things that he cannot find.
“Why then should the press protect Inter more than the others? Would Conte be so happy, repaying the injustice?
“We know we don’t live in a just world because Juve always has much more than others, from money to respect from everyone.
“Conte does not seem to be looking for a world without sinners, being more protected is like looking for favours that he cannot find. It is a lament of poverty, not of justice.
Sconcerti concluded: “Inter are not Juve, this has always been evident but it was thought that Conte was there to go and get Juve, not to regret it.”
Conte is 18 months into his three year contract with Inter which began in the Summer of 2019. The ex-Chelsea boss has managed Inter in a total of 69 matches in his time with the club so far and has won 39 of these matches.
Following Inter’s elimination from European competition, a number of reports and people in the media have criticised Conte and whilst many reports have stated Inter are not considering sacking him, some have linked Simone Inzaghi and Max Allegri could potentially succeed him at the end of the season.
