Inter are in pole position to sign Atalanta’s Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

In order to make room for Gomez, who appears destined to leave after a breakdown in relations which has resulted in him not being included in the squad for the past two games, Inter will have to sell a player, first of all Radja Nainggolan, who is on the radar of Cagliari.

Inter however do not intend to just give away the Belgian central midfielder and as Cagliari sporting director Pierluigi Carta insisted, all parties need to give their OK for a deal to be done.

Christian Eriksen also appears likely to leave the club after a nightmare spell. The Danish national team attacking midfielder was publicly placed on the transfer list yesterday by Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta prior to last night’s 2-1 win over Hellas Verona. Eriksen could maybe return to the Premier League.
