Inter are strongly interested in Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the 20-year-old Danish midfielder, who is contracted to the Blucerchiati until 2024, has impressed this campaign for the Ligurian side, having only just joined from FC Nordsjaelland in the summer transfer window.

Damsgaard has scored two goals and provided two assists so far this season, making him one of three midfielders born in the 2000s or later to have been involved in at least four goals in Europe’s top five leagues so far this season, alongside Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna.

Inter have not started negotiations yet for Damsgaard, but can offer could be made soon. The 20-year-old Dane’s price has skyrocketed this year, climbing from €6.5 million in February to around €20 million now.

The 20-year-old Damsgaard has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 785 minutes.
