A possible exchange is on the cards between Inter’s Christian Eriksen and Real Madrid’s Isco, according to a report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo earlier today.

The report details how the 28-year-old Spanish midfielder is in a very similar boat to that of the 28-year-old Dane, with both players clearly being at the fringes of their respective coach’s projects.

A possible exchange could take place in next month’s transfer window, even on loan, although there is one issue.

Considering coach Antonio Conte’s issues with Eriksen’s playing style, it seems unclear how a more attacking minded midfielder would suit the 51-year-old Italian’s tactical system.

Isco has only made 11 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 357 minutes. He has provided one assist in that time.

In comparison, the 28-year-old Eriksen has made 12 appearances this campaign, for a total of 373 minutes, showing how similar the two players’ positions are.
