Inter’s hopes of offloading Christian Eriksen to Paris Saint-Germain in January could be scuppered by the midfielder’s wage demands, according to reports in England.

PSG are expected to announce Eriksen’s former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach this week, fueling speculation over a move for the Denmark international.

But a report from the Telegraph today said the French giants would unlikely be able to cover the player’s hefty salary, making a deal difficult.

Eriksen spent four seasons playing for Pochettino in North London before the Argentine was sacked in November 2019, being replaced by former Inter boss Jose Mourinho.

The 28-year-old has made just five starts under Antonio Conte this season and is all but certain to leave Inter in January.

It remains unclear which clubs would be prepared to make a substantial offer for Eriksen, though, despite rumours elsewhere about interest from Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League.
