Roma captain Edin Dzeko has downplayed speculation over his future by stating he will remain with the Giallorossi in January.

The Bosnia international was linked with a surprise move to Inter this month in one of this morning’s papers, with the Nerazzurri searching for a new fourth striker as per various reports.

“I will stay here,” Dzeko insisted in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN this evening, when quizzed on his future.

Ever since Antonio Conte became the head coach of Inter in the summer of 2019, Dzeko has been linked with a potential switch to the Nerazzurri and these links re-emerged on the day the January transfer window officially opened in Italy.

The former Manchester City forward has been with his current employers since the summer of 2015 and he is under contract with them through to the end of next season.

This season Dzeko, 34, has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has managed to score eight goals and provide two assists for his teammates.

Inter have also been linked with Graziano Pelle and Papu Gomez in their bid to find an understudy for Romelu Lukaku.
