Benevento are keeping tabs on Inter youngster Andrea Pinamonti and like him a lot, according to the club’s sporting director Pasquale Foggia.

The Stadio Ciro Vigorito outfit have been strongly linked with signing the Italian youth national team representative on a loan basis and in an interview with Calcio In Pillole, Foggia has confirmed the rumours of them being interested in adding Pinamonti to their ranks.

Pinamonti has been widely tipped with a departure from Inter this window and has also been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt, whose coach Adi Hutter yesterday described him as an interesting player.

Many reports have stated that Inter are unable to move forward in their pursuit of a new striker until Pinamonti leaves as well as attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.

“We intend to do something in the transfer market,” Foggia explained.

“We are vigilant and attentive at this moment, we are open to improving the squad if the opportunity presents itself.

“At this moment, however, we must be very careful not to ruin the balance we’ve created in the squad.

“As for the names, there are many to have been linked to Benevento in recent days, some are true, others simply invented.

“I can confirm that we are following Inter’s Pinamonti, he’s a player we like a lot.”

In conclusion, Foggia downplayed the Campania based club’s chances of securing a move for Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, who has also been linked with Inter.

“As for Maksimovic, on the other hand, there is nothing, he is a player who I honestly believe has much more important ambitions.

Inter play Benevento at San Siro on matchday 20 of Serie A on 30 January, at which point Pinamonti could be lining up as an opposition player.
