Inter’s ownership situation will become much clearer in the next few days, according to one Italian newspaper report today.

As per Corriere della Sera, BC Partners are continuing their due diligence of the Nerazzurri’s accounts and seem interested in teaming up with another private equity fund for investment.

Inter’s current majority shareholders Suning, who have been owners since the summer of 2016, are waiting on an offer from BC Partners for a stake in the club..

But BC Partners do not have the financial strength to take the majority alone, meaning they could form a partnership with American fund Ares.

This idea is said to be gaining ground and so once the British-based firm’s due diligence process is completed, it cannot be excluded that another private equity group may join their negotiations with Suning.

Ares are one of a number of other funds to have been linked with potential investment into Inter in recent weeks.

Swedish fund EQT have also been linked but their vice-president yesterday refused to be drawn into commenting on speculation.
