Roma will give Inter a final response in talks over an Edin Dzeko-Alexis Sanchez swap deal by the end of today, according to a leading Italian journalist.

As per Sky Sport Italia reporter and transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Giallorossi’s sporting director Tiago Pinto is still in Milan and several meetings are still scheduled to take place between the parties.

The capital city club have leaked that they reserve the right to answer Inter by the end of today, after the Nerazzurri came forward and offered a Sanchez for Dzeko swap on a six-month loan basis (although yesterday it was reported that Roma were the ones to suggest the swap).

Multiple reports in the media have stated that the biggest obstacle to a deal being done is the difference in gross salaries that Dzeko and Sanchez earn at their respective clubs.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport has however gone as far as to state that the talks are off completely, because Inter and Roma cannot find a solution that satisfies both parties in an economic sense.
