Christian Eriksen’s upturn in form at Inter is partially down to the midfielder having learned Italian, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the Inter and Denmark midfielder’s language learning was slowed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic close to a year ago but the learning process has now been completed.

Eriksen is now communicating in Italian in training, he understands Italian and strives to speak it at every given opportunity, above all when out on the pitch.

Out on the field things have improved for the newly turned 29-year-old in recent weeks, with him now understanding that he cannot take as many touches of the ball and must move the ball quicker.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has never lacked dynamism and he has grown in terms of playing with the right intensity, so much so that Eriksen has convinced Antonio Conte.

Now imagining him as a starter in the Inter midfield is not so absurd, especially after Conte managed to get both Eriksen and Marcelo Brozovic playing together, something that previously did not work.

Eriksen is favourite ahead of the recovering Arturo Vidal to start Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.
