Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen has never lost hope of turning his Nerazzurri career around, according to one Italian media report today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, the Danish international never stopped training and refused to pull the plug on being a success at Inter, even if his face at times painted a different picture.

Eriksen, who joined Inter in January last year from Tottenham Hotspur, refused to accept failure and continued to work to be ready for Antonio Conte.

The 29-year-old is now reaping the benefits of certain sacrifices he made and is ready to play a key role in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.

Eriksen, who is under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2023-24 season, has made great strides in recent weeks and is making much more of an impact during games, impressing as a ‘mezzala’ during last Sunday’s win against Lazio.

In 19 appearances across all competitions this season, he has managed to score a single goal, which came against Inter’s city rivals during their last derby three weeks ago.

The Nerazzurri’s former head coach Andrea Stramaccioni today urged Conte to keep playing Eriksen following his recent revival.
