Arturo Vidal could be the victim of Christian Eriksen’s recent upturn in form at Inter, an Italian media report has warned today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, the Chilean could go from being seemingly untouchable in Antonio Conte’s starting line-up to being a back-up option.

Due to Eriksen’s turnaround and Vidal’s recent injury problems, the pecking order in the Nerazzurri’s midfield has changed, at least for the moment.

The contribution Eriksen makes is certainly different to Vidal but not necessarily better or worse, the Turin-based paper argued, just different.

While Eriksen guarantees Inter more quality, the report explained, Vidal brings grit and experience to the side, with Nicolo Barella asked to provide all the dynamism when the Dane is playing alongside him.

TS recalled comments from Conte earlier in the season when he said ‘Vidal could play anywhere’, arguing the 33-year-old would likely still come in handy between now and the end of the campaign.

Inter are four points clear of AC Milan at the top of Serie A following Sunday’s emphatic 3-0 victory in the Derby della Madonnina.
