Antonio Conte has found the two signings he was hoping for last month, a report in the Italian media joked today.

The Inter boss was unable to bring in anybody during the January transfer window because of the club’s well-documented financial problems.

Instead, as argued by Tuttosport’s print edition, he has found two ‘February signings’ in Christian Eriksen and Ivan Perisic.

Both are thought to be playing like new signings in recent weeks, having struggled to find consistent game time or performances during the first half of the season.

Perisic has grown into the role of left wing-back and the turning point for him came against Lazio’s Manuel Lazzari, before the Croatian was again insuperable for AC Milan’s Davide Calabria during Sunday’s derby.

Eriksen is now playing as a mezzala and his characteristics have allowed Inter to play with higher quality than before, giving the Nerazzurri greater unpredictability in attack but without pressing less or losing any dynamism.

The Turin-based paper said it was no coincidence Conte spoke at length about both players in his post-match interview after Inter’s 3-0 win in the Derby della Madonnina.
