Romelu Lukaku wants to make history with Inter by winning trophies, according to an Italian media report today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition highlighted the fact that the Belgian striker had scored a sensational 57 goals in 81 games in all competitions since his move from Manchester United in 2019.

Lukaku took his goal tally in Serie A for Inter to 40 with his fantastic solo effort during Sunday’s 3-0 derby win over AC Milan.

More than the individual records, though, Lukaku is looking to win a trophy with the Nerazzurri and Inter’s only remaining chance of grabbing silverware this season is the Serie A title, which they have not won for 11 years.

Antonio Conte’s side have a four-point lead at the top of the table after their crushing victory in the Derby della Madonnina.

Lukaku has scored 17 goals in 22 league games this season and is expected to compete with Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo for the goal-scoring crown until the end of the season.
