Inter must not let themselves get distracted by what is being said and must look to confirm the positive moment that they are going through, Inter coach Antonio Conte has insisted ahead of this afternoon’s clash with Genoa.
Conte has Inter sitting at the top of the Serie A standings with a four point gap over AC Milan and they could potentially stretch it as far as seven points by winning, if AC Milan are to lose versus Roma later on today.
“It will be a fundamental match, we must be good at finding balance in negative and positive moments,” Conte explained to some Italian newspapers ahead of the game due to having no pre-match press conference given the COVID situation at the club.
“We have to be good and not listen to what people are saying and confirm this positive moment.”
Conte then went on to praise this afternoon’s opponents, who have been on quite the run of form since Davide Ballardini became coach.
“Genoa are a team who are very well organised and with a very well defined identity.
“They have found balance in midfield with Strootman and Radovanovic.”
This afternoon’s clash at San Siro is scheduled to kick-off at 15:00 local time and it will be the second time this season that the side’s face-off.
The sides last met back in October at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and Inter ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
