Inter must show themselves as leaders and not waste any opportunities in their bid to become Serie A champions for the first time since 2009/10.

Inter sit top of Serie A after 23 games played with a four point advantage over second placed AC Milan and could move to seven points clear of them with a win this afternoon and if AC Milan fail to beat Roma.

Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side could also go as much as 10 points clear of arch-rivals Juventus after the reigning Italian champions slipped up yesterday and drew 1-1 away to Hellas Verona.

“It is known that they are strong up front and at the back and that they know how to win direct matches as well,” Garlando explained in his latest column which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Now Conte must demonstrate a step as a leader, without unexpected waste.

“After the big win over Juve, they drew 0-0 against Udinese.”

Garlando then went on to point out that in his eyes Inter’s next two matches are just as important as their last two in the league, even if the opponents are of lesser quality than those they have just beaten and beaten with ease.

“They have Genoa and Parma next and these matches are no less significant tests than those they have just passed against Lazio and AC Milan.”
