Inter are a team that are growing and sending out signals to others, at least according to Inter forward Romelu Lukaku following the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win over Genoa this afternoon.

Lukaku opened the scoring for Inter after 30 seconds and provided the assist for the second goal and also played a part in the third goal.

“We are growing, we are in first place and it is a good feeling,” Lukaku confessed to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the full-time whistle at San Siro.

“We must not give up, last year we lost some matches in this period.

“We are growing, I am happy but now we are thinking about Parma because it will not be easy.”

The Belgian national team player was then asked how nice it is to have had such an impact on Inter’s recent history.

“These matches are opportunities to give signals to everyone but the season is long, we have to look from match to match.

“Today was a good test to understand where we are, after two wins in a row we could have lost.

“We won and we didn’t concede any goals, it’s good for the future.”

Lukaku, who now has 24 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, then spoke on his own growth as a player and that of his teammates.

“Many of us are growing and we have room for improvement.

“Every day we work to get better and win these matches.”

In conclusion the former Manchester United player was asked whether winning the top goalscorer award in the league is a goal of is but he was quick to insist that his focus is on the team.

“I think of Inter, the important thing is that Inter win.”
