Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is a player who deserves to feel special at the moment, at least according to the Nerazzurri’s legendary former forward Jurgen Klinsmann.

Lukaku has been in sensational form this season and has been absolutely pivotal in helping Inter to the top of the Serie A table.

The 27-year-old Belgian national team player was highly influential against Genoa yesterday, scoring the opening goal in the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win after just 32 seconds.

“I think Lukaku deserves to feel special at the moment because he is putting so much work in,” Klinsmann argued after Inter’s win over Genoa while he spoke to US Broadcaster ESPN.

“He is all over the place for his teammates, he’s linking up with them really well and he knows when he has to be a little more ego-driven like with the first goal, he just wanted to score.

“He is in a very good state of mind and I hope that he stays consistent with that throughout the next couple of weeks and hopefully they will secure the Scudetto this year.”

Lukaku also provided the assist for the second goal yesterday that was scored by Matteo Darmian, before also playing a part in the scoring of the third goal which came via substitute Alexis Sanchez.

This season Lukaku, who is contracted to Inter until 2024, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 24 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
