Inter are behind Roma in the race to sign Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso, according to an Italian media report today.

Both clubs have an interest in signing the Argentine national team shot-stopper, but as per CalcioMercato.com, the Giallorossi are in pole position because they can guarantee Musso he will be their first-choice keeper.

The 26-year-old would need to contend with Samir Handanovic should he join Inter, meanwhile, reportedly putting the Nerazzurri at a disadvantage.

Musso has been one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A in recent years and it has been reported by many media outlets that Udinese want at least €30 million to part ways with him.

The former Racing Club keeper recently admitted that the interest from Inter and Roma motivates him, but he also stated during that interview that he had ambitions of playing in the UEFA Champions League.

CM’s report made no mention of those comments but Roma are by no means guaranteed of a top four finish this season, so if they missed out on Champions League qualification it could theoretically swing the pendulum back in Inter’s favour.

Musso has made 23 appearances across all competitions for Udinese this season, in which he has kept seven clean sheets.
