There can no longer be any doubt that Inter are the best team in Serie A, according to a leading Italian football writer.

Antonio Conte’s side have a four-point lead at the top of the table, which they consolidated on Sunday with a comfortable 3-0 win over Genoa.

The Nerazzurri have won 14 of their last 17 league matches since drawing at Atalanta on November 8, taking them clear of all their title rivals.

“The league is moving ever more into Inter’s hands,” Mario Sconcerti argued in a column for Monday’s print edition of Corriere della Sera.

“They have improved in many moments of the game and are being driven by a striker in Romelu Lukaku whose form is no longer surprising.

“At this moment, there seems to be no uncertainty about the final standings, we have found the league’s strongest team.”

Lukaku opened the scoring for Inter at San Siro last weekend before Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez scored to seal the points in the second half.

Conte’s side have now won nine home league games in a row for the first time since 2011, with only one goal conceded in their last seven Serie A encounters.

They will look to extend their red-hot streak on Thursday when they face struggling Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
