Inter could become almost impossible for their Serie A rivals to catch if Antonio Conte’s previous success is anything to go by, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Conte will aim to take the Nerazzurri six points clear of second-placed AC Milan with victory at Parma tonight, following the Rossoneri’s draw at home to Udinese yesterday.

Tuttosport’s print edition pointed out that Conte has an average points-per-game record of 2.33 during his previous four league title triumphs, three of which were at Juventus with the other one at Chelsea in the Premier League.

If Inter managed to match that form during their own Scudetto run-in, they would pick up another 32-33 points to add to their current tally of 56, which would make it very tough – the Turin-based paper argued – for AC Milan and others to overhaul them.

Conte’s side are being widely tipped now as favourites to win Serie A, with Inter’s former boss Roberto Mancini touting them as the league’s best team in an interview today.

Alexis Sanchez and Achraf Hakimi are expected to come into the starting XI for the match at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, as per a separate report this morning, with Lautaro Martinez and Matteo Darmian dropping to the bench.
