Arturo Vidal has a strong desire to play for Flamengo before finishing his playing career, at least according to one of his former Bayern Munich teammates Rafinha, who formerly played for the Brazilian powerhouses.

Vidal joined Inter this past summer and has recently been linked with a potential move to Marseille but Rafinha has revealed that the Chilean really wants to play for Flamengo, who are the reigning Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions.

The Chilean was one of Inter’s worst-performing players against Atalanta last night, with Antonio Conte substituting him shortly after half-time.

“Vidal has a great desire to play for Flamengo,” Rafinha, who last played for Greek side Olympiacos, explained in a recent interview with Brazilian YouTuber, Barbaridade.

“When he saw us win the Copa Libertadores in 2019, he went crazy.

“He told me that he wanted to play for Flamengo and that he absolutely had to.

“He really likes Flamengo.

“He is among the best midfielders in the world and I am convinced that one day he will really wear this shirt.

“Who wouldn’t want to have Vidal on their side? I played with and against him and I prefer to play with him.”

Vidal, who is currently under contract with Inter until the end of next season, has made a total of 30 appearances across all competitions to date in his first season with the Nerazzurri.

During his time on the pitch, which totals little under 1700 minutes, the former Barcelona and Juventus player has scored two goals and provided as many assists for his teammates.
