Sporting CP have not made an official offer to Inter for midfielder Joao Mario, according to an Italian media report today.

A report in the Portuguese media this morning said the Nerazzurri had rejected a bid worth €7 million plus add-ons for Joao Mario, who wants to re-join his boyhood club on a permanent deal.

FCInter1908.it, however, have verified the story with their own sources and reported that no offer has been made at all yet.

They reported in any case that Inter are anything but opposed to selling the 28-year-old, who is not part of the club’s project, while Sporting CP have every intention of bringing Joao Mario back on a permanent basis.

The parties will meet in the coming months for talks over the former Lokomotiv Moscow loanee, with the aim of finding an agreement that can satisfy all parties.

Joao Mario, who joined Inter from Sporting CP in the summer of 2016, has made 24 appearances while out on loan at the Liga NOS leaders, in which he has scored two goals and provided two assists for his teammates.
