Arturo Vidal will be side-lined for three to four weeks as he recovers from surgery on his left knee, according to an Italian media report today.

The Chilean national team player underwent surgery this morning, described as ‘a complete success’ by a statement on Inter’s website.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Vidal will certainly miss Inter’s matches before the international break against Torino and Sassuolo, and probably the first match afterwards against Bologna.

It is Inter coach Antonio Conte’s aim to have the experienced 33-year-old back available for the following match against Cagliari on April 11.

Vidal has been near ever-present for Inter since his arrival from Barcelona last summer, but he has not repaid Conte’s faith in him despite a couple of strong performances.

The former Juventus and Bayern Munich midfielder has scored two goals and provided two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
