Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has completed his recovery from COVID-19 after testing negative today, according to an Italian media report.

FCInter1908.it report that Ausilio, in addition to deputy sporting director Dario Baccin, club chief executive Alessandro Antonello and club lawyer Angelo Capellini are all now negative.

With this quartet having tested negative, it now leaves just chief executive Beppe Marotta still positive for the virus.

In the space of the past two days, however, the Nerazzurri have seen two players test positive for the virus.

Danilo D’Ambrosio was first to test positive yesterday after feeling slightly unwell before Sunday’s Serie A fixture away at Torino.

Reports this morning suggested that nobody else had tested positive, but Inter instead confirmed this evening that number one goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic had also contracted COVID-19.

Inter had plenty of COVID-19 positives earlier on this season but went months without any positive tests at the club prior to the positive cases in the management and now the squad.

Antonio Conte will be hoping nobody else returns a positive test before Saturday’s key match at home to Sassuolo, with Ionut Radu reportedly set to replace Handanovic in goal at San Siro.

As far as the captain’s armband is concerned, Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and Nicolo Barella are thought to be the three players in the running.
