Inter’s postponed Serie A match with Sassuolo could be rescheduled for the start of next month, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition, the match at San Siro could be rescheduled for Wednesday April 7.

Whilst there is nothing official on the rescheduling of the fixture, the Milan-based publication report that this is the most likely date for the game to be played.

The match was scheduled to take place this Saturday but has been postponed after a number of COVID-19 cases at the Nerazzurri club.

Earlier on today, Milan’s local health authority ordered the suspension of all football activity at Inter until Sunday night after Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino were confirmed as COVID-19 positive.

With this game postponed, Serie A leaders Inter will not play a match before the upcoming international break and will next be in action at Bologna on Saturday April 3.

Inter’s players have also been prohibited from joining up with their national teams for the upcoming March international break.
