Benevento striker Adolfo Gaich’s agent has left the door open for his client to join Inter in the future.

The Nerazzurri received a huge helping hand from the Argentine striker on Sunday when his goal secured a shock 1-0 win for Pippo Inzaghi’s side away to Juventus, all but knocking the Old Lady out of the Serie A title fight.

Inter were linked with a move for the 21-year-old last summer, but his agent Pablo Caro told reporters two weeks ago that there was never any real interest.

Speaking to FcInterNews.it today, however, he was asked about a possible future at Inter and said: “Let’s hope he can have an extraordinary future in Serie A, like Gabriel Batistuta at Fiorentina or Hernan Crespo at Parma and Inter.

“We hope we can have a similar opportunity, Adolfo is working every day to improve himself and to try and fulfil this kind of dream.

“Let’s see what happens, hoping he has a good chance to one day join a team like Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, Roma…

“Adolfo had interest in January from some of those clubs, as well as a few informative phone calls, but it never became anything serious.

“Obviously that interest was pleasing all the same, although today we’re more than happy at Benevento.”

Benevento’s victory in Turin means Antonio Conte’s side are 10 points clear of Juventus with 11 games left for both teams.

“Gaich knows that was an important goal he scored,” Caro admitted.

“We know what Juventus mean within Italian football and that having scored against the Bianconeri is something that will remain (in history).”

AC Milan remain Inter’s closest challengers in Serie A, with the Rossoneri closing the gap to six points on Sunday with a come-from-behind win at Fiorentina.

Gaich joined Benevento in January and has so far scored twice in five appearances.
