Antonio Conte’s future at Inter remains in doubt despite the Nerazzurri’s excellent recent form, a report in the Italian media warned today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said nothing could be taken for granted at Inter, even though Conte has his side on course to win the club’s first Serie A title in 11 years.
Conte could decide to leave Inter at the end of the season, the report claimed, if owners Suning offer him a sporting and financial plan which he deems to be insufficient.
This scenario was described by the Rome-based paper as ‘complex but not impossible’.
A similar report from Tuttosport yesterday said Conte could pack his bags and leave if Suning cannot guarantee him a hefty transfer budget to sign players this summer.
Sky Sport Italia took a different view on matters, however, arguing it would ‘benefit everyone’ for Inter and Conte to see out the final year of his lucrative three-year contract together.
