Inter fans have no reason to worry about the club failing to secure a UEFA licence for next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.
The Nerazzurri have until March 31 to provide European football’s governing body with all necessary financial documentation in order to be eligible for the UEFA Champions League in 2021-22.
Quotidiano Sportivo (via FcInterNews.it) says Inter will have to show to UEFA they have paid the first instalment to Real Madrid for Achraf Hakimi’s transfer fee, among other outstanding payments.
The report said Suning were ‘very likely’ to meet all the payments without any troubles, even if they don’t secure a loan deal with US group Fortress before the end of this month.
QS said the Zhang family, who own Suning, prefer the idea of securing a €250 million loan with Fortress to selling Inter altogether.
Suning would only consider letting go of Inter, the report continued, if somebody were to present an offer worth €1 billion.
