Inter appear to have overcome an outbreak of COVID-19 in their camp after reporting no new positive tests.

The Nerazzurri were rocked by the virus last week, with Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Stefan De Vrij and Matias Vecino all testing positive, in addition to two unnamed members of staff. The outbreak saw Inter’s Serie A match against Sassuolo postponed and the Nerazzurri were forced to isolate.

However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, tests carried out yesterday all returned negative, although Inter’s Appiano Gentile training ground will remain closed as the group continue the period of isolation since the most recent positive test, last Sunday.

Coach Antonio Conte has given his squad the weekend off and training is set to resume on Monday, with the team able to return to group sessions should no further positive cases arise.

Meanwhile, players on international duty, including Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic, Achraf Hakimi and Milan Skriniar are due to return on Wednesday.
