Inter will assess the fitness of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic this week following his COVID-19 contraction, with Ionut Radu ready to deputise against Bologna on Saturday.

The club captain tested positive for the coronavirus on 18 March during an outbreak of COVID-19, with outfield players Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan De Vrij and Matias Vecino also contracting the virus, in addition to two members of staff.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Handanovic has now completed his mandatory 10 days of quarantine and should be able to return to training following a negative test, but Radu could still feature against Bologna if Handanovic lacks full fitness.

The Romanian has not featured in Serie A since a loan spell at Genoa, with his last game incidentally coming in a 4-0 defeat to Inter in December 2019.

Radu has only made one league appearance for Inter since coming through the club’s academy, with a late cameo from the bench on the final day of the 2015-16 season.
