Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal has made rapid progress in his recovery from knee surgery and could be available for selection ahead of schedule.
The Chile international underwent surgery on his left knee to resolve an ongoing issue on 12 March, and was initially scheduled to be out for at least four weeks.
However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Vidal has been putting extra effort into his recovery and has been attending Inter’s training ground for fitness work even when the squad were granted days off this weekend.
Vidal is thought to be feeling well although Inter’s medical staff remain cautious, with the summer arrival from Barcelona gradually increasing the load on his knee.
A return to group training is targeted for either Friday or Sunday, either side of the Serie A match against Bologna on Saturday, and depending on a response to this he could be in line to feature against Sassuolo the following Wednesday.
