Midfielder Radja Nainggolan is facing an uncertain future at Inter upon his return from a loan spell at Cagliari at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old spent last season on loan in Sardinia and returned to his former club on a temporary basis in January, after falling out of favour under Inter coach Antonio Conte.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nainggolan remains fully committed to Cagliari and is determined to help the club avoid relegation from Serie A, as they languish in 18th place.

However, his longer term future remains to be settled, with a breakdown in relationships with figures at Inter and unresolved issues making a return to the Nerazzurri increasingly difficult.

Nainggolan has one year remaining on the contract he signed upon joining Inter from Roma in 2018 and is keen to join Cagliari on a permanent deal. Such a move would depend on the Sardinian club remaining in Serie A though.
