Antonio Conte will play a decisive role in Romelu Lukaku’s future at Inter, according to a report in the UK today.

As per the Daily Mail, four European heavyweights have been linked with a move for the Belgian in recent weeks: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Lukaku’s strong relationship with Conte is said to be ‘a key reason’ why he wants to stay at Inter, for whom he has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season.

If Conte were to leave Inter in the summer, the 27-year-old would consider his options, but the Serie A leaders have rejected all interest in Lukaku and will continue to do so unless he explicitly asks to leave.

Lukaku has scored 19 league goals and provided seven assists for Inter this season, who sit six points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table (with a game in hand).

He scored Belgium’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic on Saturday, taking his international tally to 59 goals in 91 appearances.
