Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is on course to win the first title of his career, with the Nerazzurri currently sitting top of the Serie A table.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Argentina international has never won a trophy in his six years as a professional, and the opportunity to become a champion for the first time is additional motivation.

The 23-year-old is expected to start alongside Romelu Lukaku upfront for Inter against Bologna this evening, but has failed to score in any of his four matches against the Rossoblu so far.

Martinez squandered a glorious chance from the penalty spot last season at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in July, wasting the opportunity to put Inter 2-0 up and subsequently allowing Bologna to come from behind and win 2-1.

However, the forward has put that disappointment behind him and is now focused on claiming the Scudetto with Inter, whilst he is in line for a new contract with the Nerazzurri.
