Inter coach Antonio Conte believes the Nerazzurri fully deserved their win in the Serie A away against Bologna he told an Italian broadcaster.

The former Chelsea and Juventus coach was speaking to Inter TV immediately after the final whistle against Bologna away at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara where the Nerazzurri recorded their 9th straight win in the Serie A.

“We knew that Bologna could mean trouble, but this victory was well deserved. This is a win that gives us joy and confidence because today’s Bologna was a tough team to face.

“We are very happy, we will have a great Easter like the rest of the Inter fans. I told the players to relax and enjoy Easter but still with their focus on Wednesday, because the number of games remaining are getting fewer and fewer and each game has the value of two games.”

“There’s pressure for everyone. For us, the teams that are behind us and the teams that are looking for a Champions League spot, knowing how much it means from an economical point of view.

“There are 10 games to be played, 30 points to be won and nothing is complete. We have done great up until now, but it’s still not enough.

“We try to keep our heads down and deliver, but there is no need to tell the players who are already aware of the situation.

“I want to wish the fans a Happy Easter, I think they will have a good Easter from a sporting level. This is a hard time from a Covid point of view, but from a sporting level, our fans can be proud.

“The commitment of the players is still the same, and we always want to exit the pitch with sweaty jerseys.”

The Nerazzurri defeated Bologna thanks to a goal midway through the first half by Romelu Lukaku, who scored his 20th Serie A goal of the season.

That proved to be the only goal on the day and was good enough to record Inter’s 9th consecutive win in the Serie A to go 8 points clear of city rivals AC Milan with one game in hand.

Inter will host Sassuolo in the Serie A this coming Wednesday the 7th of April 2021 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan’s San Siro district with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.
