Inter’s victory over Bologna in Serie A last night saw them edge ever closer to winning a first Scudetto since 2010, with Italian media suggesting they are halfway there.
A Romelu Lukaku goal on the half-hour mark was enough to defeat the battling Rossoblu at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara and allow Inter to extend their lead at the top of Serie A to eight points with a game in hand.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the match was hardly a classic but pushed Inter towards the league title, particularly after AC Milan and Juventus both drew earlier in the day.
The newspaper went on to suggest that Inter had half the Scudetto secured but needed to avoid complacency in the final nine matches of the season, despite such a healthy lead over their challengers.
Inter came in for criticism for sitting back against Bologna and trying to manage the game, forcing them to rely on individual quality to seal victory, with a warning that it could be a dangerous approach in the final stretch of the campaign.
