Inter coach Antonio Conte is set to be forced to make changes to his defence against Sassuolo on Wednesday, with Alessandro Bastoni due to serve a one-match suspension.

The Nerazzurri will take on Roberto De Zerbi’s side in a rearranged match after the initial date in March was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, but Conte’s options are limited.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Bastoni’s yellow card against Bologna yesterday and subsequent suspension has complicated matters, with Aleksandar Kolarov still making his comeback from injury.

Conte may instead turn to Danilo D’Ambrosio, who has only just returned after more than two weeks in isolation after contracting COVID-19, to slot in at centre-back alongside Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij.

Alternatively, Andrea Ranocchia may retain his place in the starting line-up after featuring against Bologna, whilst Matteo Darmian remains an option, with the full-back slotting into a more central position.
