Inter coach Antonio Conte has been praised for his side’s dominance in Serie A this season, with Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni using an interesting analogy to describe the Nerazzurri.

A first-half Romelu Lukaku goal was enough to seal a 1-0 win over Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara last night and move Inter eight points clear of AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table, with a game in hand.

Writing in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, editor Zazzaroni claimed that Juventus’ dominance in Serie A was now over and praised Inter for continuing to extend their lead even when thir rivals slipped up.

“The first news is non-news, the one to end Juve’s long, envied and exhausting sequence will be the one who started it, Conte,” Zazzaroni declared.

“His Inter have always been the hare that runs away for weeks, becoming less and less frightened. She turns around and no longer finds the dogs that chased her.

“Even yesterday, they did not play a great game but at the first chance found the goal to get three points through Lukaku.

“After all, Antonio is the guru of insistence and the result is excellence,” Zazzaroni concluded.

Inter have the opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of Serie A even further when they welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday, in a rearranged fixture originally scheduled for March. The game was delayed due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the Inter squad however.
