Barcelona have been dealt a blow in their hopes of signing Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian keen to remain in Italy unless the Nerazzurri actively look to cash in on him.

The Blaugrana are in the market for a new forward and coach Ronald Koeman would like to reunite with Lukaku after previously working with him at Everton.

However, as reported in yesterday’s newspaper edition of Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona face several barriers in their pursuit of the Belgium international, with his price being a major stumbling block.

Meanwhile, Lukaku has no desire to leave Inter after firing the Nerazzurri to the top of the Serie A table with 20 league goals this season, and feels that he has found stability at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The former Chelsea striker would only consider a move to Barcelona if Inter were willing to sell him, and even then any switch would depend on Koeman still being in charge at the Catalan club.

Lukaku joined Inter from Manchester United in 2019 and has scored 60 goals in 86 appearances for the club.
