Lautaro Martinez’s tactical development is one of the secrets behind Inter’s charge towards Serie A glory, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the striker had fully assimilated Antonio Conte’s ideas about how to work off the ball and out of possession.

Lautaro has made huge strides in a tactical sense and is helping Inter defend from the front alongside strike partner Romelu Lukaku.

The Milan-based paper said he was a ‘decisive’ figure for his defensive work, giving his game a whole new dimension to add to his goal-scoring heroics.

Conte had Carlos Tevez doing similar work during his stint at Juventus, the report continued, while Jose Mourinho wanted Samuel Eto’o, Diego Milito and Goran Pandev to work hard defensively during Inter’s treble campaign.

Lautaro scored his 15th league goal of the season for Inter during Wednesday’s crucial 2-1 win at home to Sassuolo.
