Inter midfielder Joao Mario, currently on loan at Sporting CP, has attracted interest from city rivals Sevilla and Real Betis, with the Spanish clubs challenging for his signature.

The Portuguese international joined Inter from Sporting in 2016 but failed to establish himself in Serie A and returned to his former club last summer.

According to A Bola, Joao Mario has drawn interest from Sevilla, with coach Julen Lopetegui keen to bring him to the club last summer before he returned to Portugal.

With only a year remaining on his contract, Sevilla are hopeful of landing the 28-year-old in a cut price deal and are ready to offer midfielder Papu Gomez in exchange, despite only signing the Argentine from Atalanta in January.

Sevilla face competition from local rivals Real Betis however and they are thought to be willing to cash in on Joao Mario’s compatriot and former Sporting teammate William Carvalho in order to raise funds for his signing.
