After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Roma in Serie A today, a week after a loss by the same scoreline, Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic claimed his side ought to have taken more from both games.

The Rossoblu fell to a Borja Mayoral goal shortly before halftime at the Stadio Olimpico today, after being unable to overturn a Romelu Lukaku header against Inter last Sunday, leaving them 11th in the Serie A table.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle, Mihajlovic suggested that his team had done enough to avoid defeat in both games and had been good value all season, with a 5-1 thrashing against Roma in December the only blip.

“Surely against Inter and Roma we did not deserve to lose 1-0, especially for what I saw on the pitch and for what we produced,” the former Nerazzurri defender claimed.

“I say this because they are two teams who are superior to us but I did not see this on the pitch. Nobody put us under pressure, apart from Roma in the first match, and we have taken far less than we deserve. This means something must be missing.”

Bologna look to return to winning ways when they face Spezia in Serie A next weekend, before a midweek visit of struggling Torino.
