Former Torino and Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono believes Inter are guaranteed to go on to win the Scudetto this season after opening up a dominant lead at the top.

Antonio Conte’s side are the overwhelming favourites to win the Serie A title for the first time since 2010 after winning 10 consecutive matches to go into the weekend’s fixtures with an 11 point gap, reduced to eight by AC Milan ahead of their match against Cagliari today.

In an interview with Italian radio station Lady Radio yesterday, Colantuono assessed the title race in Serie A and expressed confidence that the Nerazzurri would go on to secure the title, with their lead unsurmountable with only nine games left.

“Inter will win the Scudetto. Inter have already won it. How can they lose it now?” Colantuono claimed.

The 58-year-old enjoyed two spells at Atalanta, from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2010 to 2015, as well as stints at Torino, Palermo and Udinese.

Inter look to continue their push towards the Serie A title when they welcome struggling Cagliari to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza later today.
