Inter full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio is set to extend his contract with the club at the end of the season, with his existing deal expiring this summer.

The former Torino defender only has two months remaining on the contract he signed in April 2017 and as yet, no new deal has been presented to him.

However, as reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter have decided to retain him next season and value his presence within the squad and changing room, with D’Ambrosio considered a positive figure.

Senior management have no doubts about extending his contract and are keen to keep him involved even as his existing deal draws to a close, with a view to triggering a one-year extension that is in place.

Inter will hold off on finalising an extension for D’Ambrosio until the end of the season so as to be able to fully assess their financial standings, but expect a brighter situation by then and being able to retain him.
