Stats and data provider Opta revealed that Matteo Darmian’s late winner in Inter’s 1-0 win over Cagliari yesterday was the latest the Nerazzurri had opened the scoring in a match this season.
Taking to Twitter, Opta confirmed that no other player had opened the scoring for Inter later than Darmian’s 77th minute goal when the scoreline was still 0-0.
The former Torino and Manchester United defender struck from close range to give Antonio Conte’s side an 11th consecutive Serie A victory.
“77 – Inter found the net against Cagliari after 77 minutes, it is the latest goal scored by the Nerazzurri in a 0-0 scoreline in Serie A this season. Key,” Opta tweeted.
