Arturo Vidal will have to wait a little longer before he can make his return to action for Inter, according to reports in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the midfielder would ‘probably’ be unavailable for Sunday’s big Serie A match away at Napoli, as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

Vidal and Aleksandar Kolarov both trained separately from their Inter teammates yesterday, as the Nerazzurri returned to Appiano Gentile after two days off.

Both are unlikely to recover from their respective injury concerns in time, but Inter are more optimistic about recovering Ivan Perisic for the trip to Naples.

Tuttosport’s print edition confirmed the Milan-based paper’s report, adding that Antonio Conte was ‘pessimistic’ about getting Vidal or Kolarov back in his squad for this weekend.

The Chilean and the Serbian are expected to train separately until the start of next week, at which point they will attempt to return to group action.
