Inter have already rejected a big-money offer from a European giant for Alessandro Bastoni, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

Bastoni gave an interview today in which he insisted he was ‘very happy’ with the Nerazzurri and had the dream to win Serie A under Antonio Conte.

Sport Mediaset (via FcInter1908.it) have now revealed Manchester City offered up to €60 million at one stage to sign the 21-year-old, albeit they did not specify exactly when.

In any case, Inter president Steven Zhang was not in the slightest bit interested in opening talks over Bastoni, despite Pep Guardiola’s best efforts to bring him to the Premier League.

Bastoni has established himself as one of Europe’s most promising young centre-backs since Conte’s appointment as head coach in 2019, although he admits he didn’t expect at first to become a key player for Inter so quickly.

Inter are thought to have prioritised tying Bastoni down to a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2023, as per another report today.

The Italy international has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, providing four assists.
