With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, AC Milan are ready to pounce for Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio and offer him a two-year contract.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, D’Ambrosio’s availability on a free transfer has caught the eye of the Rossoneri as they look for alternatives to Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria, with a two-year deal on the table for D’Ambrosio.

The former Torino defender’s agent, Vincenzo Pisacane, met Milan last week for discussions over a move at the end of the campaign and the deal was offered in case D’Ambrosio fails to renew with the Nerazzurri.

However, Inter have an option to trigger a one-year extension to D’Ambrosio’s current contract and will begin discussions over whether to exercise this at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old joined Inter from Torino in January 2014 and has gone on to score 20 goals in 229 appearances.
