Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini believes Udinese captain Rodrigo De Paul would be a perfect fit for Inter.
The Nerazzurri have been linked with the Argentine midfielder, particularly after his fine brace secured a 2-1 win for Udinese over Crotone today, despite souring his afternoon with a late red card.
Appearing on Italian television channel Sky Sport Italia earlier today, Ambrosini assessed De Paul’s performance and felt he could slot into Inter coach Antonio Conte’s team.
“A player like De Paul could play for Inter, given that he provides so much quality and in terms of quantity, he could fit into Antonio Conte’s midfield, as well as at Juventus,” Ambrosini declared.
With Inter set to face Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Serie A tomorrow evening, Ambrosini felt that the Nerazzurri were in for a difficult test as they look to close in on the Scudetto.
“Napoli are a team that play with a lot of energy, so I think Inter may need to change their tactical approach compared to recent matches. Putting myself in the shoes of Conte and his team, when you can see the finish line so close you can’t wait to cross it. They must earn the results though,” he concluded.
Ambrosini made 489 appearances for Milan between 1995 and 2013, winning the Serie A title four times in addition to two Champions League titles.
